About Ocean Cruiser sailboat’s Captain
Juan Carlos is the Ocean Cruiser’s Captain since its acquisition in 2012
To know more deeply about our Captain, I want to share with you his relationship with the sea, experience, and passion, which is part of Juan Carlos’ life.
He started sailing when he was only 6 years old and at the age of 12 he was already competing in important regattas, even participating with whom was then Prince of Asturias.
After finishing his academic training and his vocational education, he gradually used his nautical experience, turning it into an asset and afterwards becoming a teacher and maritime and underwater instructor.
Juan Carlos’s greatest satisfaction is teaching sailing
With more than forty years of sailing experience and traveling alongside hundreds of coasts, he has so many amusing and intriguing stories, many anecdotes that spark anyone’s imagination.
Since 2012, he has been combining his many talents with the Ocean Cruiser tourist charter activities in Puerto Marina( Benalmádena), where besides of provide practical training, he is responsible of boat trips around the Benamádena bay and of course, training our future sailors and skippers.
He is demanding and serious at work, nevertheless he is very responsible and generous, sharing all his knowledge to his students.
As an expert in safety and survival techniques, he requires to his students and personnel to be extremely careful and responsible, because sea is not a game, it is a hostile environment and as such, we must be respectful and consistent with the actions we carry out.
For Juan Carlos, the priority is the passengers’ safety, not leaving any situation to chance, being attentive to the wellbeing of each passenger under his command, making sure they could enjoy sailing as much as possible, since most of them are on board for the first time or just have little experience.

About the sailing boat rent and sea excursions
We offer sea trips and excursions on a sailing boat located in Benalmádena marina (Puerto Marina).

Due to the characteristics of our sailboat, it is also ideal for fashion events, aesthetics, fashion collections shows. We have real expertise working on such occasions.
Yes, the sailboat can be rented for private events (birthdays, engagement parties, weddings, reunions, stag and hen parties and any other private event or party).
The sailing boat offers sea excursions and boat trips almost all year round, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The sailboat fulfills all the safety standards required by the Merchant Navy and it is inspected by this entity every 3 months.
Yes, if weather and sea conditions permitting, we operate all year round. If there are no bookings, we are usually closed in January and February.
For boat trips/excursions, the business hours are from 10:00 am to 21:00 pm. In the case of a private event, we can arrange a charter outside these hours depending on the event.
Yes, a sailboat excursion is suitable activity for all ages, from babies to adults.
There is a high chance of seeing dolphins, especially early in the day when there are fewer boats and less noise in the sea. We sail in areas where dolphins have been sighted before.
It is a very stable sailboat. Being a 42 year old classic sailboat, it’s safe and very well balanced.
Yes, as long as they are supervised and do not disturb other passengers.
