About the Sailboat Ocean Cruiser
Moored in Benalmádena’s marina, «Puerto Marina», the Ocean Cruiser is no ordinary boat: she is a classic sailboat built entirely of teak wood, with over 40 years sailing seas, coasts and oceans, gathering countless stories between her masts. She has sailed around the world twice, appeared on television programmes, fashion events and prestigious photo shoots, and to this day remains unique in style and presence.
Her wooden deck holds the memories of a thousand routes, and every voyage adds a new story that we write together with you.
A sailboat with an adventurous spirit

—— SAILING AS A WAY OF LIFE
About our Crew
We are Margarita and Juan Carlos. We love sailing and the freedom it represents, and in 2012 we decided we wanted to share our passion for the sea with more people.
That same year we travelled to Mallorca, where we fell in love with this sailboat, today the soul of our family business. We sailed her to the Costa del Sol and ever since we have devoted ourselves wholeheartedly to tourist charters, dolphin watching, private excursions and countless one-of-a-kind celebrations on board.
A sailboat is more than a means of transport: it is a sensory, ecological and deeply relaxing experience. Sailing aboard her means surrendering to the rhythm of the sea, silently and respectfully with the environment.
Crew and Training
Besides offering unforgettable experiences at sea, the Ocean Cruiser is also a Training Ship. We train sailors, skippers and even researchers through partnerships with educational and scientific institutions.
Juan Carlos, skipper and instructor, has been sailing and teaching for over 40 years. Together with Marga, they create a warm, safe atmosphere full of authentic learning on board.
About the Captain of the sailboat Ocean Cruiser Juan Carlos, seafarer and master of the sea
Juan Carlos is the soul and helm of the Ocean Cruiser since her acquisition in 2012.
To know him, you must let yourself be carried away by his story: a life among winds and tides, woven with a passion for sailing.
His bond with the sea is deep and moving: he began sailing at just 6 years old, and by 12 he was already competing in top-level regattas, including some with the participation of the then Prince of Asturias. That early connection with the sea sealed his destiny.
Over the years, Juan Carlos turned his vocation into a mission: training new generations as a sailing and diving instructor, sharing his knowledge with authenticity, responsibility and devotion.
His greatest joy is still teaching people to sail, that noble art that conveys freedom and respect for the ocean.
With more than four decades sailing along coasts and across oceans, Juan Carlos has gathered a treasure of heart-warming, funny, life-filled stories he loves to share with everyone who comes aboard — because for him, every person who embarks on the Ocean Cruiser is part of his crew, and his tales, full of humour, emotion and seafaring wisdom, bring smiles and often spark a glint of wonder in those who listen.
Since 2012, he splits his time between training skippers and sailors and the Ocean Cruiser’s tourist activity at Puerto Marina in Benalmádena, where he leads every outing with vocation, warmth and professionalism.
Demanding in his work yet always generous, he passes on to his students not only techniques but values. As an expert in safety and survival at sea, he teaches respect for this wild, beautiful and sometimes unpredictable environment.
For Juan Carlos, passenger safety is non-negotiable. He oversees every detail and keeps a watchful eye on everyone who comes aboard, especially first-time sailors
