Being the one who prepares the surprise means looking after the details the other person mustn’t even suspect. Over the years we’ve seen many proposals aboard, and the ones that go perfectly share the same silent preparation. This is your list so nothing is left to chance:

1. The ring, always on you and kept safe. Tuck it into an inside pocket with a zip or give it to someone you trust who’s coming aboard. On deck the breeze blows and there’s movement: don’t leave it on a table or near the rail.
2. Choose the moment before boarding. The best is usually when the sun is already grazing the horizon and the light is warmer. Decide it with the crew: we know the exact point on the route where the view is clearest.

What IS and what is NOT included

Here’s the part many websites skip and which, however, is the one that prevents disappointment. We’d rather you know before booking, not once you’re already aboard. We’re a local operator and this is what we really provide and what’s down to you.

What IS included

• The toast aboard. Cava, sangria or soft drinks to celebrate the moment, at no extra cost: it’s part of the experience.
• The skipper and crew. Professional and multilingual (Spanish, English and French), and accomplices in the surprise: they help you make everything come together.
• The route and the best framing. We know the bay and seek the spot where the light and the views come together.
• The bow sun deck (the best spot for the moment) and, when the sea allows, a swim to toast the newly sealed engagement.

What is NOT included (and it’s best you bring)

• The decorations. If you dream of petals, balloons or a sign, bring them yourself: we don’t set up surprise displays. A simple touch looks wonderful with the sea in the background, so don’t overcomplicate it.
• The photographer. Not included. You can handle it yourself, ask an accomplice aboard or hire a professional separately. Decide beforehand: improvising the photo of the key moment is costly in memories.
• The snorkel or paddle gear and other optional extras, which are charged separately.

And an underlying reassurance: by booking the proposal exclusively, all of this is just for you. The pace, the music and the moment are yours to set, with no agenda but your own and no strangers sharing the deck.

Plan B if the weather doesn’t cooperate

Let’s be honest: the sea and the sky don’t follow calendars. There are days when the sun hides behind a cloud at the peak moment and that picture-perfect postcard view doesn’t materialise. It’s happened to us, and the best thing is to have it planned for so it doesn’t spoil the excitement.

Our advice: don’t tie the proposal to a perfect sky, tie it to the moment. The emotion of the question doesn’t depend on a fiery sunset; an overcast sky over a calm sea has its own magic and even softens the photo. Even so, if you’d rather secure the picture, this helps:

• Book with room to spare. If your getaway lasts several days, pick a date with a spare day behind it: if the forecast looks bad, we reschedule subject to availability.
• Ask the crew. We know the bay and know whether it’s best to head out or wait; we’ll tell you honestly, without making false promises.
• Have a backup indoor plan. A good restaurant with harbour views as a safety net takes the pressure off and lets you enjoy the boat without anxiety.
• Accept the motor without drama. With little wind you sail under motor and it takes nothing from the romance: the boat still rocks and the setting is still the same sea.

And afterwards: how to celebrate the yes
